Sante Fe
Cooking and Spa Weekend
September 29-October 2, 2005
Join The Dragon's Path for a Spa and Cooking Weekend in "The City Different" - Santa Fe, New Mexico. Over the course of a long weekend, we will wander through the city and learn its fascinating, timeless history. Meandering along Canyon Road, we will visit world famous art galleries. Who can resist soaking in the waters at 10,000 Waves, a Japanese-style hot springs resort? Since Santa Fe is known for its Southwestern cuisine, we will try tasty local dishes and learn how to make traditional foods that we can re-create at home. This weekend getaway will give you a taste of New Mexico that will bring you back to sample more.
Sept 29:
Arrive in Santa Fe. Enjoy a warm welcome with friends, local wine and delicious appetizers.
Sept 30 :
After breakfast, we will take an educational walking tour of Santa Fe; the oldest capital city in the United States. There will be free time to explore and see things on your own. Next, we are off to 10,000 Waves to rejuvenate at a Japanese hot spring spa. Our group will have its own private tub for 2 hours! 10,000 Waves offers a variety of spa treatments, including massage and skin care. For a full menu of services and pricing for treatments, besides our private tub time, please visit www.tenthousandwaves.com. After pampering, our next stop is the Georgia O’Keeffe museum, followed by a fantastic local cuisine dinner.
Oct 1 :
Put on your walking shoes, because we are heading to Canyon Road, the center of Santa Fe’s renowned art community. Santa Fe is the second largest art market in the nation, and nowhere else in town can you find the artistic scope and richness that Canyon Road offers. Since window shopping and walking works up an appetite, our next stop is the Santa Fe School of Cooking. Here we will experience the flavors of the Southwest during a cooking class. Not only is the class entertaining and educational, but delicious too! Our final class project is…lunch. After lunch, the afternoon is free to do as you like. We will re-group for a wonderful dinner.
Oct. 2
Depending on your mood, you can opt to sleep in, or take an early morning walk. After another wonderful breakfast, we will prepare for your departure home.
