Slovakia Hiking:  Budapest to Krakow

Day 1
Meet in Budapest hotel in early evening for information meeting and walk to one of the local restaurant for dinner.

Day 2
City tour of Budapest. Lunch on your own, leave for Eger in early afternoon. About 2,5 hour drive. Dinner in local restaurant ( wine cellars on outscirt of town).

Day 3
Walk from Eger and reach the Bukk National Park. About 3,5 hour walk by wineyards and forests. Picnic lunch, then return to Eger. Walking tour of Eger Castle, time on your own, visit spa etc. Dinner on your own.

Day 4
Start early. 2,5 hour drive to Tokaj. Town after which the famous brand of wine was named. Town very interesting with its history, mix of cultures and of course wine. Short walk in the hill above the town, wine tasting and lunch. Mid afternoon drive to Slovakia - to Levoca.

Day 5
Whole day walking in Slovak Paradise. There are different options, in average approx. 6 hours hiking. Return to Levoca for overnight.

Day 6
Leave Levoca and visit Spis area, Spis Castle, walk on Drevenik Natural Rezerve and visit Zehra church or Spisske Podhradie all of these sites are part of UNESCO World Heritage. Afternoon drive by the east side of Tatras to the most famou Polish resort - Zakopane.
Dinner in typical Polish "koliba" with local live music.

Day 7
Whole day hiking in the Polish Tatras. HIke towards Kasprovy Vrch, one of the nice peaks in the area. Optional ride down by cable car ( nice option for people who have difficulty walking down the hill). Dinner on your own.

Day 8
Return to Slovakia and hike over Kopske sedlo (col) to south side of the mountains. See the diversity of northern and southern valley as well as variaty of mountain flowers - one of the best spot because of combination of limestone and granit base. Reach Brncalova chata(hut) where we have lunch and herbal tea and continue to Tatranska Lomnica. Overnight.

Day 9
Full day hiking in the Tatras. We might split the group, those wish to walk less would go to Strbske Pleso and hike to Popradske Pleso(pleaso means mountain lake). Those who wish to hike more would take the cable car to Skalnate Pleaso and walk towards Mala Studena Dolina . Return to Tatranska Lomnica for overnight.

Day 10
Half a day hike in West Tatras, visit Orava Castle and end up the day in Terchova in Mala Fatra National Park.

Day 11
Whole day hike in Mala Fatra National Park. Enjoy the scenery, ridges and deep valleys which surround this mountain range full of mountain flowers, sheep and sheep herders and local life which still goes unchanged by modern society. Overnight in Terchova.

Day 12
Drive to Krakow, lunch on your own, afternoon walking tour of the city and farewell dinner.
